General Legal Baseline

- Valid UK Driving Licence
- Smartphone (iOS/Android) for Driver App
Vehicle Transportation
Planned moves, dealerships, auctions
- Standard B Licence & DVLA Trade Licence
- Trade Plates (Red Numbers) legally displayed
- Motor Trade Insurance for driven vehicles
- No O-Licence Required (exempt for driven moves)
- No Tachograph Required
Light Recovery & Towing
Under 3.5t Gross Train Weight (GTW)
- 3.5t Flatbed/Tilt Tray or SUV + Trailer
- B+E Licence highly recommended for heavy trailers
- No O-Licence (if GTW <3.5t OR recovery exempt)
- No Tacho (under 100km radius / 3.5t limit)
- Minimum 2t winching capability
Commercial & Heavy Recovery
Over 3.5t GTW, incl. HGVs
- 5t–7.5t+ Flatbeds & Heavy Recovery Vehicles
- HGV, Lorry, Bus & Coach recovery support
- Category C1, C, or C+E Licence with Driver CPC
- O-Licence Mandatory for commercial transport
- Tachograph Mandatory (unless strict <100km exempt)
On-Site Roadside Assistance
Tire change, jump start, roadside support
- Service Vans or Commercial Mobile Workshops
- Support for all vehicles (incl. HGV jump starts/tires)
- Diagnostic tools & 12V/24V Jump Starter
- Lockout tools, jacks & basic hand tools
- No Recovery Equipment or O-Licence Needed
Equipment & Safety Standards
Best practices and high-risk operations
- PAS 43 Certification (highly recommended)
- Class 3 Hi-Vis clothing (EN ISO 20471)
- Compliant amber warning beacons
- Minimum 4 independent rated wheel straps
- DVSA load securing compliance
All documentation, including O-Licences for vehicles over 3.5t and Trade Licences for plate drivers, is verified during the onboarding process.
